DeMAT '11, 2011

The Laboratory was represented in the Development and Evaluation of Maritime Technologies, DEMAT '11, which took place in Split, Croatia from 26 Oct. through 28 Oct. 2011, by Prof. Zoran Vukic and Dr. Bruno Borovic. Prof. Zoran Vukic contributed with the paper "Underwater robotics - Present state and the future" and Dr. Bruno Borovic contributed with the paper "Potentials of using underwater robotics for fishing and fish farming".


IFAC World Congress 18, 2011

The Laboratory was represented in the 18th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control, 2011, which took place in Milan, Italy from 28 Aug. through 2 Sept. 2011, by Dr. Nikola Miskovic and Prof. Zoran Vukic. Dr. Miskovic contributed to the technical programme of the Congress with the paper "Multibeam Sonar-Based Navigation of Small UUVs for MCM Purposes". Prof. Zoran Vukic participated as a member of the International Porgramme Committee and a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Marine Systems.


MED 19, 2011

The 19th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2011, was organized by the Mediterranean Control Association in Corfu, Greece, from 20 through 23 June 2011. Cure researchers Prof. Zoran Vukic, Dr. Nikola Miskovic and Mr. Tomislav Lugaric attended the conference. LABUST contributed to the programme by hosting a special session on results of the Breaking the Surface workshop. Dr. Miskovic presented a paper titled Sonar Aided Control and Navigation Of Small UUVs and Tomislav Lugaric presented a paper titled A Modular Approach to System Integration in Underwater Robotics.

ICAR 2011

THE 15TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED ROBOTICS was organized in Tallin Estonia, from 20 through 23 June 2011. The theme of ICAR 2011 was New Boundaries for Robotics. It seeks to share new ideas, weird connections, unexpected mixes of technologies, methods and approaches which have been applied to solve new kinds of problems in new application areas. As a part of the ICAR 2001 conference, workshop "Marine robotics" took place. The scope of the workshop was broad as it aimed at bringing together scientist working on diverse issues ranging from bio-inspired robot design, to sensors, navigation, guidance and control of single and multiple vehicle systems, marine manipulation, and applications as surveillance or archeological studies. The LABUST researcher Antonio Vasilijevic presented project "CURE" and its R&D results.


CAMS 8, 2010

The 8th IFAC International Conference on Control Applications in Marine Systems 2010 was organized by the University of Rostock in Warnemunde, Rostock, Germany, from 14 through 16 September 2010. Three CURE researchers, prof. Zoran Vukic, the Chairman of the International Programme Committee and Member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Marine Systems, and Mr. Matko Barisic and dr. Nikola Miskovic as contributors to the technical programme, attended the conference.

Mr. Matko Barisic presented some new work related to planning posture-continuous 2D paths in waterspaces with a priori known and classified clutter in his paper Geometric Primitives-Based AUV Path Planning In Cluttered Waterspaces, to the acclaim of being awardedthe Best Student Paper Award. The 7th IFAC International Symposium on Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles 2010 was organized by the University of Salento in Lecce, Italy, from 6 through 8 September 2010. ACC 2010

The AACC & IFAC 2010 American Control Conference was organized by the American Automatic Control Council, from 30 June through 2 July 2010 in Baltimore, USA. OCEANS 2010

The IEEE Oceans 2010, Sydney conference was held in Sydney, Australia, on 24 through 27 May 2010. Dr. Vladimir Djapic, a researcher at NURC presented a paper on his joint work with Mr.Dula Nad, a CURE researcher employed at the Laboratory, titledUsing Collaborative Autonomous Vehicles in Mine Countermeasures. Oceanology International 2010

The 12. Oceanology International 2010, organized in London, United Kingdom from 9 through 11 March 2010 is the world’s premier meeting place for the marine science and ocean technology community. Oceanology was attended by Antonio Vasilijević and Kruno Zupčić. The Oceanology International 2010 conference, organized by the Society for Underwater Technology, focused on the five core technical disciplines: Navigation & Positioning, Hydrography/Geophysics, Marine Environment, Geotechnics, Ocean Observation and Forecasting.


UUST 2009

The Autonomous Undersea Systems Institute's International Symposium on Unmanned Untethered Submersible Technology 2009, held in Durham, NH, USA from 23 through 26 August 2009 was attended by Mr. Matko Barisic.
